This Opera variety is considered to be dwarf, only reaching 14 inches in height. It is also double-flowering which means that is has multiple rows of petals. This Opera Dahlia mix has colors of white, orange, red, yellow and violet. It loves a position in full sun, and it prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil. Start Dahlia seed indoors in early spring. Cover the flower seed lightly with soil and keep moist. At warm temperatures, 70 - 85F, germination usually occurs within 21 days.
