Angelica (Angelica archangelica) this majestic plant works well in a prominent position towards the back of a border or within a wild area of the garden. It's natural habitat is in moist shady woodlands. The whole of this fragrant plant have been used for culinary or medicinal purposes, it is possible most well known for its crystalised stems, that are used for decorating cake. During the first year Angelica will produce leafy bushes, and then in the same year die down and vanish under ground completely during the winter months. It is in the next year that they will reach their full size, and when stopped from flowering and seeding will survive for several years.
