- Care: This fast-growing plant needs space and thrives in a location with lightly dappled shade or cool morning sun. It has high water needs in hot, dry weather and requires high ambient humidity. It can also develop bumps on the undersides of its leaves, which is a natural reaction to excess water and not a pest problem.
- Indoor Growing: Due to its vigorous and immense size, this tropical vine is not a good choice for the average indoor environment. It requires a significant amount of space, light, and humidity to thrive. It will likely enter a dormant phase if brought indoors, which should not be mistaken for the plant being sick.
- Climate: As a tropical plant, this vine is sensitive to frost and freezing temperatures and is best suited for outdoor growing in USDA Hardiness Zones 10 and 11. It has a unique winter dormancy where leaves lose color and drop, which is a natural, resting phase.
