This new release of the Europakonzert blu-ray series on recorded excellence follows the Berlin Philharmonic on their journey through the continent. This 1994 concert was recorded at the Staatstheater Meiningen five years after the German Reunification. The evening began with the majestic Fifth piano concerto in E flat major by Beethoven as a virtuoso performance by Claudio Abbado and Daniel Barenboim, followed by Brahms's Symphony No. 2 in D major Op. 73.
