Resveratrol is most popularly known for its anti-aging and disease fighting benefits which are mainly brought about by its protection and improvement of cardiovascular and cellular health.* The low rate of Heart disease (and death arising from it) among the French population, despite their highly unhealthy lifestyle which includes smoking and very high fat diets has been attributed to their heavy consumption of Red wine. As true as this may be, the importance of a good Resveratrol supplement cannot be understated. Red wine may contain as much Resveratrol as proven, but heavy consumption of alcohol isn't quite the best way to obtain this highly beneficial chemical.
