In 2005 GFP co-founder Deb and her daughter, Amy were diagnosed with Celiac Disease; an autoimmune disease requiring a lifetime commitment to a gluten-free diet. In 2012 the family followed their passion to bring healthy gluten-free products to the millions of consumers who are avoiding gluten.Gluten-Free Prairie (or GFP as it’s called by the family) strives to create gluten-free food that is not only safe for celiacs and gluten-intolerant people, but also people with no wheat allergies at all. Jeremy Wheaton, the baker in the group, has developed the recipes with flavor in mind. The Gluten-Free Prairie family is Deb and Rick Wheaton, along with their son Jeremy and his wife Jenn. At the heart of the business are higher protein pure gluten-free oats that are grown in dedicated gluten-free fields, harvested on designated gluten-free equipment and packaged in a certified gluten-free facility.
