Perennial. Unlike most other penstemons, the lovely pink flowers of this native perennial have a wonderful fragrance that might remind you of roses or honeysuckle. Soaring stems up to 5 feet tall emerge in early summer with a show of tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. Ideal for sandy or gravelly soils with good drainage. Established plants require little watering.
