This 2DVD/2Blu-ray Special Edition of William Shakespeares Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2, featuring stagings by the Royal Shakespeare Company, was recorded live at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, May 2014. Founded in 1961, the RSC have and continue to stage the work of the companys namesake Shakespeare, his contemporaries and new writers, in the process nurturing the present and future talent of both writers and actors and continuing a tradition now centuries old. Telling the story in both historic and dramatic terms of the turbulent familial and ruling reign of the early-15th c. monarch Henry IV leading to the succession of his eldest son, Henry V, these late 16th c. works are, as most of Shakespeares work, part of the most historically pre-eminent canon of theatre works in the English language.
