Ever played a game of musical chairs? How about musical houses? When a Hermit Crab finds a empty shell, it will inspect it for size, shape, and school district. If the shell isn't the right size (who needs a 3-bedroom shell these days?), they'll leave it for another house-hunting crab - say, one with a perfect fit and a great credit score! The new crab will move in, opening up his shell to the other waiting crabs. Thus a game of musical houses ensues, with up to 20 crabs swapping shells with each other. And we thought NYC's real estate was crazy!
