â— Grade of Canned Red Ginseng
There are three kinds of grade. Heaven(천,天), Earth(지,地) and Good(양,良) grade. Heaven is first. Good grade is, Color and root condition are excellent and the internal formulation is very delicate. The color of cross-section is yellow brown. The length of internal white is less than 1/3 of the total body length, or the length of internal hole is less than 1/2 of the total body length. The number "40" on the front of can is the size of dried ginseng. 300g-40 contains 24 roots of ginseng. 300g-20 contains 14 roots.. 300g-30 contains 19 roots. 300g-40 contains 24 roots. The lower number means the bigger size of ginseng. (It is Korean standards of canned ginseng)

â— Red Ginseng
Korean red ginseng is made by repetitive steaming and drying many times to increase saponin(ginsenoside) in the ginseng. That process is done until total water in the fresh ginseng would be up to 14%. The color of Korean red ginseng is yellow-red and the process is sometimes done 9 times.
