By the time Jeffery Wells turned eighteen, his world was falling apart. His father had left him and his mother. She had turned into a drunk, drinking every night until she passed out. His was a senior in high school and his school work began to suffer. Then his twelfth grade homeroom teacher, Miss Lancaster, took an interest in him, offering to tutor him in English and history. She was unaware that Jeffery had not only had a crush on her since the ninth grade, but was now obsessed with her.

When the tutoring began, they each found out the other was lonely, and needed someone to love and to be loved by. The tutoring sessions became a mutual admiration society, as Miss Lancaster put it. The void in both their lives was soon filled with each their love for each other.
