We use Horween Dublin Leather for this journal covers which is Full Grain leather with Pull up effect

Full Grain: Leather that has its surface left completely intact, showing all natural characteristics of the hide.
Pull-up: The temporary lightening of certain leathers when folded. This is caused by displacing oil and waxes.

Every piece of leather is different from hide to hide, it may have scars and other imperfections of the animal. (Because this is Full Grain Leather)
The leather have distressed look and may scratch with time.
