The PURAP cushion is designed for people who use a wheelchair or scooter, the elderly, and patients with limited mobility, as they are at high risk for developing pressure sores. It has been developed specifically to help prevent and heal pressure sores (aka bedsores, pressure ulcers) and provide relief for patients suffering from sciatica, fibromyalgia, ischial pain, and other conditions that cause sitting pain.

When you sit, only a few contact points end up supporting most of your body weight. All sitting surfaces push back on these contact points creating 'pressure hotspots'. Continuous pressure on these hotspots causes sitting pain and pressure sores.

Our patented 3D flotation technology has 3 different layers - fluid, air, and foam. Each layer responds differently under pressure and together they dissipate the pressure away from underneath you and provide comfort and support.

Other cushions are designed to compress so that you experience a feeling of relief when you 'sink-into' the cushion. However, they try to 'spring-back' to their original shape and you feel the same high pressure points.
