SEED PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Pre-soak the seeds for one to two days so that they absorb some water to start the germination process. Change the water a couple of times. Plant the seeds in a warm, sunny site and in well-drained soil. Germination temperature between 80°F-90°F (27°C-32°C). Plant seeds 1" (2.5cm) deep and 10-15 inches (25-38 cm) apart. Germination is 14-30 days depending upon growing conditions. Provide support for climbing vines.

It grows abundantly in hot, humid equatorial countries, from the Philippines and Indonesa to India, Burma, Thailand and Sri Lanka. It is a tropical perennial that looks a lot like regular garden beans. It can be grown as an annual in temperate areas such as the Northwest.
