Product Review
Cymbidium Koushu Tango is a dazzling orchid that produces intense ruby red blooms, showing its excellent breeding by the Mukoyama Nursery in Japan, one of the leading Cymbidium orchid hybridizers in the world. Just like the dance for which it was named, this is one red-hot orchid! Its vibrant red petals coupled with its deep, dark lip results in a very seductive bloom. This Cymbidium orchid is very hardy, easy to grow, and also on the smaller side (not quite miniature, but close), making it an easy fit for any collection. You can grow this in any kind of chunky orchid bark, watering twice per week and fertilizing every other week. Avoid direct sun; moderate to bright shady conditions are best. This is a warm-tolerant orchid and can also tolerate near-freezing temperatures for short durations, but bring inside if expecting prolonged cold. So...are you ready to tango? IMPORTANT NOTES: Cym. Koushu Tango is one of our top-selling orchids, but this variety tends to get burned leaf tips from high fertilizer levels, so we trim the leaf tips prior to shipping. The plants are NOT sick or diseased, but you may desire your plants to have intact leaves. If so, PLEASE PASS on this variety - we acquired them as-is, and it will take several seasons to grow them out with low-fertilizer watering. ALSO: Only the IN POT option includes pot and media/soil, as potting media increases the weight of the package and cost of shipping substantially. It is much cheaper for you to get your own media (orchid bark from fir trees) locally from any garden store. Also, this variety is a late winter bloomer, and is NOT IN BLOOM when shipped.
