Product Review
Victoria Rhubarb is probably the sweetest and mildest of all rhubarb plants. Stalks are tender and easy to cook. Plants are prolific; stalks green with red blush. Bare roots are good for beginning of spring planting. Rooted plants are better towards fall, planted upon arrival, 3-5 weeks before first fall frost.
- 🍃 Victoria Rhubarb produces large, richly colored stalks and broad, textured leaves that bring bold structure and early-season interest to edible and ornamental gardens. Gardeners appreciate its vigorous growth and dependable returns year after year, making it a standout feature in vegetable patches and mixed plantings.
- 🌱 This hardy perennial thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained, fertile soil, growing 24–36 inches tall with wide, spreading foliage. Plant roots or seeds in deeply worked soil, spacing plants 24–36 inches apart to allow strong root development and a full clumping habit.
- 🧑🌾 Ideal for pies, jams, sauces, baked goods, and a wide range of seasonal dishes, Victoria Rhubarb offers flavorful stalks once established. Expect harvestable stalks beginning in the second year, with reliable, abundant production each spring thereafter.
- 🌎 USDA Zones 3–8. This robust variety performs beautifully in cooler climates, returning annually with vigorous new growth. Its bold leaves and bright stalks add ornamental value while contributing long-term productivity to edible landscapes and homestead gardens.
