The PHX-13 is the heavyweight axe of the POWERHOUSE line. Hybrid axes & Maul, the long 27.5” Handle design gives you increased power in every swing. The extra Heavy 8 lb.. Axe head adds even more power as it bears down when swing. Added to this, the over-all design is well balanced giving you better control in every swing. To be able to inflict maximum force, the PHX-13 has to be made from very tough materials. Handle is made of an advanced polymer thermoplastic (TRP) that is water & chemical resistant & also gives it added durability & shock absorbing capability. The axe head is made from hardened C45 carbon steel that is dropforged, cooled in oil bath, & then heat treated for 53-56 hrs (Rockwell) level of toughness.
