Country of origin: USA Brugmansias, or Angel's Trumpets, as they are commonly called, are a species of semi tropical large growing flowering shrubs that mature into multi stemed semi-trees that bloom throughout the warm season in cycles of large, upside down hanging, trumpet shaped flowers.
They are easy, very rewarding to grow, and make interesting garden specimen plants.  Not only do Angel's Trumpet lend a very romantic, elegant, 'Wisteria Lane' sort of look in a tropical to subtropical landscape, but the flowers are highly fragrant, especially at night and attract butterflies & hummingbirds as well.
Generally they come in shades of pink, peach, white and yellow, and will bloom a least 2 or 3 times each year, although the cycle is unpredictable and seems to be controlled by temperature light. They are semi tropical, but are frequently grown in colder zones as potted plants that are over-wintered indoors.
Shredded White (also sold as Fantasy) is a very unique and interesting serendipitous Brugmansia candida hybrid credit for discovery to Bruce Pearson of Tropical World de las Flores in Mexico. The slightly green toned, stark white flowers are made of up of several distinctly separated large, ruffled, single petals that fall from a single sepal, ending in sharp pointed short whiskers.
