Thomas Gere, youngest of three children, is nearing graduation from high school and preparing for college. At eighteen, Tom has grown big and strong, over six feet tall, and is a football star. His mother depends on him to help with her parties—Fourth of July and Christmas, the big ones—often to look after guests who drink too much.

He never thought much about women until a Fourth of July party when he is seduced by one of his mother’s friends. He becomes obsessed with older women. Feeling guilty about his thoughts, he talks to his minister, who tells him it’s only natural to be attracted to beautiful women, even his mother, but he must never act on that attraction. Tom knows his mother in off-limits, but thinks older women are there for the picking.

At their annual Christmas Party, his mother asks him to take home a friend who has had too much to drink. At first reluctant, he quickly realizes he has a golden opportunity—Gwen Longhorn is there for the picking…
