The huge bulbs of our Ailsa Craig Onions are mild, sweet, and firm with light golden skins. Small necks allow for longer storage than other Spanish-types: allowing you to store for up to one month. Named for a perfectly round, solid rock island off the coast of Scotland, these large Spanish onions are perfect for burgers and salads.

WHEN TO PLANT

For best results, direct-sow in mid-spring or start transplants at 75-85°F 10-12 weeks before planting out.

GROW PATTERNS AND TIMING

Plant your Ailsa Craig Onion seeds about 1/4-inch deep with approximately 20 seeds per foot with 18-30" between rows. Your onion seeds should take between 7 and 14 days to germinate and will reach full maturity within 95-105 days.
