Japanese Kiryu is a very common addition to bonsai soil in Japan. Â Our Superfly Bonsai Traditional Japanese Bonsai Soil contains 1/3 of this Kiryu to make an awesome mix. Â If you like to mix your own soil to perfection then this bag of Kiryu is a great addition.Â
Is It Dirt?
No. Bonsai trees do not like "dirt" and will in most cases die if left in dirt over long periods of time. This is substrate.
What Is In It?
Kiryu - is a very hard substrate from the ground in Japan that absorbed some water. Â Kiryu does not break down and assists in drainage.
