Beaucarnea recurvata, also called pony tail palm is a well known robust house plant, native to Mexico. The pony tail palm forms a huge, inflated base, out of which several slender, branched trunks arise. The numerous leaves in the fountain-like crown of Beaucarnea recurvata can reach a length of 1.5 m.
